Angela Cumine - Physiotherapist

MA, BEd(Hons), Grad. Dip. Phys., HCPC, MCSP, fHEA, BASRaT

Angela has worked in the sports science / sports medicine industry for over 35 years as an exercise physiologist and chartered physiotherapist having graduated from I.M.Marsh C.P.E (now John Moores University), Leeds University and Middlesex School of Physiotherapy. Her career has involved working at national, international and professional levels and includes GB men’s hockey team (Seoul and Barcelona Olympic Games), West Ham United FC, Solheim Cup (Europe), England RFU for 25 years, including being the lead physiotherapist for the referees in the recent 2015 World Cup. In addition to being a practicing healthcare professional, she has maintained a strong academic profile working at West London Institute (now Brunel University), St Mary’s University College and Middlesex University, gaining status as a Teaching fellow and an Associate Professor. Her specialties are in the musculoskeletal and sports injuries field with a strong interest in accelerated rehabilitation having set up the first sport rehabilitation programme in 1994 at St Mary’s University College under the headship of Bill McLoughlin. As a founder member of the professional association ‘The British Association of Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers’ (BASRaT) she was awarded lifetime honary membership.
